GRIEVANCE MECHANISM

A grievance mechanism (or complaints procedure) is a formal, legal or non-legal complaints process that can be used by individuals, workers, communities and/or civil society organizations who have suffered harm caused by others. Grievance mechanisms are sometimes also referred to as 'complaints', 'redress' or 'accountability' mechanisms.

A grievance is defined as “a wrong or hardship suffered, which in effect becomes a ground for complaint”. Grievances can be made within the company or with an external source. Our complaints handling policy covers both of these circumstances, but the procedures vary.
